Veronica Hagen, AMFT

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.
— Mother Teresa

Seeking therapy can be daunting, but I’m here to offer a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can show up as your true, unfiltered self. I believe in creating a reparative, relational therapeutic experience where we engage in honest conversations, share moments of vulnerability, and embrace laughter and tears. I bring my authentic presence—intuition, compassion, curiosity, and openness—into every session. My approach is warm, relational, and grounded in respect. I am not here to lecture you on what to do; you are the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you as a fellow human who honors the sacredness of you and your story. Our stories deserve to be held with care, and in this supportive environment, you’ll find the hope and encouragement needed to create meaningful change in your life.

My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by my experiences with loving, supportive therapists who helped guide my growth. I understand the vulnerability, doubts, and challenges that come with therapy, and I deeply honor the courage it takes to begin and continue this work. I also prioritize my ongoing healing and growth, as therapy is a key part of my self-care. If I don’t show up for myself, I can’t fully show up for you.

Healing is a shared journey, one that flourishes in relationship and connection. Together, we’ll navigate the ups and downs with compassion and trust. I honor all parts of you and your story and the strength it takes to embark on this transformative process. As you heal and integrate all parts of yourself, your growth will naturally ripple outward, creating deeper, more meaningful connections with others.

How I work…

I offer a trauma-informed, holistic approach to therapy that honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. My work is strengths-affirming and person-centered, creating a space where every aspect of your experience is valued. Specializing in trauma, grief, loss, and life transitions, I understand that many challenges stem from unresolved grief or buried trauma. I believe trauma is deeply personal—what one person experiences as traumatic may differ from another—and every form of trauma deserves compassion, understanding, and acknowledgment.

I draw from a variety of modalities, including Brainspotting, somatic therapies, parts work, polyvagal theory, attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, and mindfulness, to help clients process trauma and heal their nervous systems. My focus extends beyond symptom relief—I'm dedicated to cultivating self-compassion, building shame resilience, and fostering post-traumatic growth, empowering clients to discover renewed hope and purpose.

More About Veronica:

Veronica is an associate marriage and family therapist at Whole Wellness Therapy. In addition to her education and clinical experience, she brings a wealth of diverse life experiences that allow her to connect with clients in a deeply empathetic and understanding way.  Veronica is committed to supporting individuals through times of change and uncertainty, particularly helping them navigate the trauma associated with grief, loss, and life transitions.  She is especially passionate about working with law enforcement couples, partners, and children.

As a law enforcement wife of 24 years, Veronica empathizes deeply with the challenges that couples and families in law enforcement face. She understands how unpredictable shift work, long hours, and frequent separations can strain emotional connections, increase conflicts, and disrupt family routines, often leading to feelings of abandonment, resentment, or insecurity. Veronica collaborates with partners, couples, and children to enhance communication, develop flexible routines, and foster emotional engagement. She helps them create intentional, meaningful time together, strengthening relationships and building resilience. Her approach ensures that everyone feels heard, understood, and valued, providing a protective foundation against the unique stresses of law enforcement life.

When she’s not working with clients, Veronica enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her goofy Labrador retriever. As an avid thrifter, she loves hunting for unique finds and great bargains at thrift stores, flea markets, or garage sales. Veronica’s warm, down-to-earth nature permeates every aspect of her life, and she finds great joy in connecting with others in meaningful ways.
