Jillian Cardoso, LMFT

You may have found yourself in a challenging spot and are unsure of where to go or how to even imagine a world outside of your present moment. It may even seem easier to smile through the pain and respond with a typical, “I’m fine,” when someone asks how you’re doing. Well… I want to know how you really are—I’m here to listen, help you learn new skills and incorporate behaviors that lead to a better tomorrow.

Beginning therapy can be scary and overwhelming. The fact that you are here searching for your next step is a great achievement and a sign that you’re embarking on a significant life journey to wellness. Together, I’d like to create an environment where you feel safe and comfortable to get started on that new journey. As a clinician, I want to establish a relationship that’s collaborative, empowering, kind, and honest.

My goal is to embark on this adventure with you—to assist you in identifying new paths and help you overcome hurdles along the way. My approach is person-centered and invites a more conversational experience to help you unpack and build more insight into the issues you’re facing. I will help you create a more compassionate relationship with yourself (or between you and your partner), and to find the stepping stones to your miracle world.

How I work…

I work to create a trusting relationship with each of my clients and utilize a person-centered approach that ensures a unique and personalized treatment plan. I will often integrate a cognitive behavioral or solution-focused intervention to assist you in understanding yourself and others around you to the best of your ability.

My experience has granted me the opportunity to work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and relational issues. I have learned that every person’s symptoms present differently. My aim is to engage you where you are, as well as help you confront things that aren’t working and discover those that are. In other words, I believe that acknowledging our challenges while simultaneously celebrating our victories is ultimately the most rewarding approach for both you and I!

If you are feeling ready to turn the page and get started, please reach out to me today and let’s talk!
