Kyle Wiesenthal, MA, AMFT

I’ve heard many people say, “grow through what you go through”, but how can you do that if you don’t have the right tools? Cliché garden metaphor aside, all of the things that you need to begin and maintain your mental health care is already within you – I am just here to help bring them to the surface, accept them, then use them to your advantage.

As a previous therapy client, myself, I know it can be hard to find a therapist, whether it’s your first time looking or your seventh, thank yourself for looking! Any time that you decide to prioritize your needs is time well spent – even if you don’t know what it is that you need all of the time. That’s where I come in! You and I can work together to help explore the depths of your past, the potential difficulties of your present and revitalize your hope for a better future. Whether you and I work together, or you decide to go another way, if anyone hasn’t said it today, I’m proud of you!

I decided to become a therapist because I didn’t feel like I had someone in my corner when I was trying to understand the heavy and confusing emotions that I was experiencing when I was younger, with the ultimate goal of supporting others while they try to understand their own struggles. Everything that you are experiencing may not feel normal, but you are not alone in trying to figure out what you’re going through and therefore, what you need. I know it can be scary to trust someone new with some of your more intense experiences/feelings, but you and I begin as equals and remain as equals for our entire time together.

How I work…

As both a clinician and a person, I try to move through the world with empathy, open-mindedness, a strong desire to help other people see just how much they offer the world and to themselves and the hope that I can create a safe space for every person I encounter – client or not. You already have everything you need within you to form healthy relationships/communication, engage in self-compassion and find new ways to not just exist, but to live – sometimes people just need someone else to support them in the beginning of their journey.
